MLB Legend Ichiro Tries To Join Hall of Fame

Japanese baseball legend Ichiro Suzuki, who played in the Major League Baseball (MLB) in the early 2000s, is a Hall of Fame candidate.

On the 19th (Korea time), the Major League Hall of Fame announced 14 new and existing candidates who could enter the Hall of Fame in 2025. Among the new candidates were Ichiro, pitchers C.C. Sabathia, Felix Hernandez, Fernando Rodney, catchers Russell Martin and Brian McCann, infielders Dustin Pedroia, Henry Ramirez, Troy Tulowitzki, Ben Zobrist, outfielders Carlos González, Curtis Granderson and Adam Jones.

Among the 14 토토사이트 new candidates that were announced on the day, Ichiro is considered one of the most promising players to join the league. Having entered the Major League in 2001 after playing in the Japanese pro baseball league, Ichiro received the Rookie of the Year award and the MVP award in his first year since his debut. Until he retired in 2019, he had a batting average of 0.311, 117 homers, 780 RBIs and 509 steals, and hit more than 200 hits in a season for 10 consecutive years, bringing his total number of hits to 3,089. He was named the batting champion twice and the All-Star 10 times in the American League.

Among the existing candidates, closer Billy Wagner is expected to win this year. Unfortunately, he was eliminated in the Hall of Fame vote last year with 73.8 percent (284 votes).

In order to be inducted into the Hall of Fame, reporters with more than 10 years of experience from the American Baseball Journalists Association (BBWAA) must win more than 75 percent of the vote. Voting will be valid until mail-in ballots that are postmarked on Dec. 31. The Hall of Fame will announce the results of its vote on Jan. 24 next year.
